The 8th annual Iron Star Triathlon was held in Montgomery, TX on November 7, 2010. This race is a half-iron (70.3) distance race held in and around the La Torretta Del Lago Resort on Lake Conroe. This was my third (ever) and final race of 2010. After having relative success at the two previous sprint distance and olympic distance races, I was convinced by my coach and by myself that it was time for a real challenge. A 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run seemed challenging enough...and boy, did it prove to be a challenge for me!
I was a non-athletic, wimpy, asthmatic kid growing up. Now, in my 30's, I'm attempting to push myself to my furthest limits as an age group triathlete.

Houston Triathlon - 9/26/10
The inaugural Houston Triathlon was held in and around the Towne Lake community development in the Cypress-Fairbanks area of Northwest Houston on September 26th, 2010. The race was an Olympic/International Distance triathlon (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run). Additionally, there was a "shortened swim" option especially designed for beginners and/or people who aren't strong swimmers (300 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run).

Yam City Triathlon - 8/29/10
This is my first race review, and a very special one to me. After all, this was also my very first race! The race was held August 29, 2010 in Opelousas, LA. The race centered around the Louisiana Family Fitness Center. It consisted of a 150 yd. pool swim, 14 mile bike, and 2 mile run, so I guess it would be classified as a super sprint distance race.
